    Adaptive smoothness constraint image multilevel fuzzy enhancement algorithm

    For the problems of poor enhancement effect and long time consuming of the traditional algorithm, an adaptive smoothness constraint image multilevel fuzzy enhancement algorithm based on secondary color-to-grayscale conversion is proposed. By using fuzzy set theory and generalized fuzzy set theory, a new linear generalized fuzzy operator transformation is carried out to obtain a new linear generalized fuzzy operator. By using linear generalized membership transformation and inverse transformation, secondary color-to-grayscale conversion of adaptive smoothness constraint image is performed. Combined with generalized fuzzy operator, the region contrast fuzzy enhancement of adaptive smoothness constraint image is realized, and image multilevel fuzzy enhancement is realized. Experimental results show that the fuzzy degree of the image is reduced by the improved algorithm, and the clarity of the adaptive smoothness constraint image is improved effectively. The time consuming is short, and it has some advantages

    Design of auto-calibration system for multi-channel strain gauge

    In view of problem of wasting time and energy and low efficiency in calibrating process of existing calibration method of strain gauges which adopts single-channel manual operation mode, an auto-calibration system based on cortex-M3 MCU was designed,hardware and software design of the system were introduced in details. The system can output standard resistance signal to input terminal of calibration bridge , and can automatically compute precision of calibrate bridge through comparison value between actual outputs and theoretical outputs. The experimental results show that the system can perform auto-calibration of strain gauge efficiently with calibration precision at 0.5%

    Tasks and learner motivation in learning Chinese as a foreign language

    This study focuses on how beginner learners in a task-based teaching and learning (TBTL) environment perceive what is motivating to them in the process of learning Chinese as a foreign language at Aalborg University, Denmark. Drawing upon empirical data from surveys, group interviews and participant observation, this study explores which kinds of tasks are perceived as motivating from the students' perspective and which characteristics the learners associate with motivating tasks. The study indicates that it is important to consider the learners' affective factors and learning situation factors, which can boost learners' intrinsic motivation, when designing a task, especially at a beginning stage of foreign language learning, and to integrate cultural elements into tasks as an added value to motivate learners. Finally, this study identifies challenges and barriers related to TBTL that beginner-level students may find discouraging. It is suggested that motivating learners to continue learning the language and encouraging active participation may be more important than developing their linguistic accuracy and fluency in the given context

    Dual Roles of Ascidian Chondromodulin-1: Promoting Cell Proliferation Whilst Suppressing the Growth of Tumor Cells

    Chondromodulin-1 (ChM-1) is an extracellular matrix protein that plays crucial roles in tumor cell growth and angiogenesis in vertebrates and humans. ChM-1 is highly expressed in the invertebrate Ciona savignyi, a marine ascidian chosen as a model. The effect of the recombinant Ciona mature ChM-1 peptide (Cs-mChM-1) on cell proliferation, migration and angiogenesis was evaluated on cultured cells. The results revealed that low concentrations of Cs-mChM-1 (12.5 nM) promoted osteoblastic cell (MC3T3-E1) growth and protected cells from H2O2-induced damage. However, a higher concentration of Cs-mChM-1 (i.e., 500 nM) not only suppressed both growth and migration of tumor cells, including human cervical cancer (HeLa) cells and human neuroblastoma (SH-SY5Y) cells, but also significantly inhibited proliferation and angiogenesis of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). The expression levels of cyclinD1 and mitogen-activated protein kinase 1 (MAPK1) were slightly increased in Cs-mChM-1 treated MC3T3-E1 cells, whereas these genes decreased in treated HeLa cells, SH-SY5Y cells and HUVECs. This result indicates that Cs-mChM-1 modifies cell behavior by regulating cell cycle and cell adhesion. Thus, the present results reveal that recombinant peptides of ChM-1 from invertebrates can play a dual role in cell proliferation and migration of different cell types. The inhibition effects on tumor cell growth and angiogenesis indicate potential pharmaceutical applications for recombinant Cs-mChM-1

    Tight sandstone oil and gas reservoirs are widely distributed, rich in resources, with a bright prospect for exploration and development in China. Due to multiple evolutions of the structure and sedimentary system, the gas–water distribution laws are complicated in tight sandstone gas reservoirs in the northern Ordos area. It is difficult to identify gas and water layers in the study area. In addition, in the development and production, various factors, such as the failure of the instrument, the difference in construction parameters (injected sand volume, flowback rate), poor test results, and multi-layer joint testing lead to unreliable gas test results. Then, the inaccurate logging responses will be screened by unreliable gas test results for different types of fluids. It is hard to make high-precision fluid logging identification charts or models. Therefore, this article combines gas logging, well logging, testing and other data to research the test and logging data quality classification. Firstly, we select reliable standard samples through the initial gas test results. Secondly, we analyze the four main factors which affect the inaccuracy of gas test results. Thirdly, according to these factors, the flowback rate and the sand volume are determined as the main parameters. Then, we establish a recognition chart of injected sand volume/gas–water ratio. Finally, we proposed an evaluation method for testing quality classification. It provides a test basis for the subsequent identification of gas and water through the second logging interpretation. It also provides a theoretical basis for the exploration and evaluation of tight oil and gas reservoirs

    Chemical Composition and Allelopathic Effect of Essential Oil of Litsea pungens

    Natural plant resources with herbicidal activity may be substitutes for synthetic chemical pesticides, likewise aromatic plant extracts, especially essential oils. Essential oil from Litsea pungens has been proved to possess a strong antibacterial property. Interestingly, we found the essential oil also showed a strong allelopathic capacity. Therefore, in the present work, the chemical composition of the essential oil from the fruit of L. pungens was analyzed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). The weed control abilities of the essential oil were also further evaluated. The results show that the yield of essential oil extracted by steam distillation was 1.4%, and 17 compounds, mainly terpenoids, were identified by GC–MS. In allelopathic tests, the essential oil exhibited a negative effect on seed germination rate and seedling growth of Lolium perenne and Bidenspilosa. Moreover, chlorophyll content, malondialdehyde content, electrolyte leakage, catalase, superoxide dismutase and peroxidase of seedlings treated with essential oil were also negatively affected. This work could provide a better understanding of the rational utilization of L. pungens essential oil for crop cultivation and further development of environment-friendly herbicides
